Echoes of Bermuda
ECHOES OF BERMUDA - film script by Jimi Pantalon

A tale of mystery, music & mayhem inspired by historical events.

The first film about Bermuda's forgotten revolution.

Echoes of Bermuda is a story of passion and protest - a troubled time period portrayed through remarkable lives, woven together in a tapestry of music.

Premise

The Island Nation of Bermuda, a British Territory and haven for music and tranquility, is rattled to its core in 1973 when a police station janitor commits a series of murders, setting off a violent revolution.

Erskine “Buck” Burrows is convicted for the assassination of Bermuda’s governor, becoming the final prisoner executed by the British Crown anywhere in the world. However, the facts of the case remain a mystery to this day.

Filmmaker

Jimi Pantalon is a native New York City artist creating experimental films and video installations for two decades. As a first-generation Croatian-American, his work examines socio-political themes from a multicultural viewpoint.

Project Background

After visiting Bermuda several times for previous projects, Jimi fell in love with the island and began extensive research. After discovering the tragic story of Erskine Buck Burrows and the intersecting lives of musical icons and political events, he pursued interviews with eyewitnesses, historians, politicians, and Bermudian elders.
